Aviva's rainbow/paint party

Image
Last year my sister in law and I pulled off something short of a miracle. If you throw last minute birthday parties, then you're a miracle worker as well. Aviva wanted a rainbow party for her 5th birthday. Lemme tell you, homegirl is obsessed with rainbows. Instead we took that idea and ran with it mixing a bit of a paint/artist themed party as well. It was colorful, cute and def worth it all.  Let me add that all the things we found were from Party City, Dollar Tree, Walmart, Target, Hobby Lobby and (god bless) Amazon Prime. These places are your best friends when it comes to party decorations.    I think you could never go wrong with streamers. They are cheap, easy to use, come in every possible color and add a little more personality to any celebration.   The clear paint cans and paint brushes were bought in separate sets off of Amazon. The brush handles were originally that natural wood color but painted with acrylic paint. The paint cans stuffed with tissue pa

Fourth of July photos

Here are a few takes from a patriotic, "Fourth of July", American themed mini photoset I did for Baby Abby's 8 month milestone. Hope these can help inspire anyone who wants to take that direction with a photo op. The "8 MONTHS" sticker I added with the app "Adorable". Once I can figure out how to transfer photos on my micro SD card from my camera to my phone/computer I'll add more from this shoot. -xo

Father's Day Personalized 6-pack DIY

Image
Here's a DIY gift any beer enthusiasts can appreciate. If beer isn't for you, this can also be done with any cardboard crated 6-pack of soda/beverage you'd like. If you have a printer you can do all of this at home. If you don't, a trip to the FedEx Print Store is inexpensive and could possibly save you some cash if you don't already have sticker paper or photo paper. Lets Begin! This one was for my husband Gilbert's first Father's Day. Aviva, my eldest, was already two years old when we started dated. Gil missed all the newborn triumphs and trials and had completed his first REAL year of the ins and outs of raising a baby. With that said, I wanted to make this Father's Day special but didn't want to order something customized from someone else.  >>>>>>>>>>>> I first picked up some unrefrigerated beers. This is very important because you'll be handling the beer a lot and you won't want to work

Library Haul (Pt. 2)

Image
I got this idea to start doing library hauls to share with you some of the books that I believe deserve a little recognition. I have to go to the library quite often because Aviva needs to read for 20 minutes every night as part of her homework. It doesn’t sound like a lot of time but it definitely feels like it is when you breeze through picture books. Since the books we check out are for (younger) children, we usually can read about 2-4 books in that time frame. If you do the math, on average, that's about 15 books during the school week. As a result you can imagine what a trip to the library looks like, if not, think about leaving with the motherload stack of books. Now I know you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover -figuratively and literally- but let’s be real, not all books are created equal. I decided to help you out by doing all the work and weeding out anything less than worth your time…or your read aloud voice in my case. I have chosen these books based off of illustrati
