Aviva's rainbow/paint party

Image
Last year my sister in law and I pulled off something short of a miracle. If you throw last minute birthday parties, then you're a miracle worker as well. Aviva wanted a rainbow party for her 5th birthday. Lemme tell you, homegirl is obsessed with rainbows. Instead we took that idea and ran with it mixing a bit of a paint/artist themed party as well. It was colorful, cute and def worth it all.  Let me add that all the things we found were from Party City, Dollar Tree, Walmart, Target, Hobby Lobby and (god bless) Amazon Prime. These places are your best friends when it comes to party decorations.    I think you could never go wrong with streamers. They are cheap, easy to use, come in every possible color and add a little more personality to any celebration.   The clear paint cans and paint brushes were bought in separate sets off of Amazon. The brush handles were originally that natural wood color but painted with acrylic paint. The paint cans st...

TWO SASSY

Happy Birthday Baby Abby technically she's Toddler Abby now but whatevs. We are blessed to be able to celebrate another year with our sweet girl. She's perfectly two, filled with wonder, curiosity and ambition. She takes naps, but sometimes thinks she doesn't need to. (She still needs to) She expresses her thoughts and emotions in short sentences. She's learning more words everyday. In fact she's like a little parrot. All these emotions can be overwhelming. aka toddler meltdowns. The collapsing to the floor crying, the screaming, the frustrated "I can't" that she tells us ...We'll get past these moments babygirl. Daddy, hang in there too, I'm going along with the punches. I don't always know what to do. For my Coco loving little lady, love you to pieces.  Got this from JADEandPAIIGE  on Etsy. They carry lots of personalized shirts for many occasions;) Call me a joy kill but I don't see the necessity in throwing my ch...

Abby's First Birthday

In four more days Baby Abby is going to be 2 years old. I was going to type "I can't believe it!" but yes, I can believe it. It's been an eventful two years. I've seen her grow so much during this time. In the first 12 months of her life she's gone from helpless newborn to a rambunctious baby. She learned to roll over, sit, use her hands, eat, and stand up etc. The second year she learned to walk and talk as she became her own little person. 12 though 24 months was a transition from baby to toddler. She's a toddler with SO much personality. I tell Gilbert, she's about 2ft but personality like 6'2. She has likes and dislikes. She expresses emotions with feelings in a whole new way. An infant may cry when they are cold or hungry or tired. Abby now tells us she's hungry, asks for certain foods, says no, sticks her bottom lip out when we scold her. Of course with all these new emotions comes the inability to properly act on them or express them an...
