This is Halloween!

...but not really. It's only October 8th.
However because it's October I thought I'd share some throwbacks from this time last year.

[A LITTLE BACKSTORY] For my daughter's first Halloween my husband, Gilbert and I put some thought into what we wanted to dress her up as. We strive for a "no-basic-baby" household : P This got us brainstormin' past the baby pumpkins & cats. The conclusion? What better way to pay homage to our love of seafood than put our baby into a lobster costume!

OFF TOPIC: sometimes I think about all the countless sea critters that defied the odds of living until adulthood (or at least to an edible maturity). They survived the peril of the ocean! More than likely though, just the not so life threatening seafood farms. All that survival to amount to being boiled, fried, sliced or eaten raw, for us! Thank you little sea dwellers but I won't stop eating you. I'm sorry, I'm not sorry.

We ended up picking up a costume from "Babies R Us". Yes, I am still processing the fact that I can say I was a "Toys R Us Kid" and my kids will have no idea what I'm talking about. RIP Geoffrey the Giraffe. Just last year "Babies R Us" was a thing and by the off chance, happened to carry baby lobster costumes!  The original plan was that Gil would dress up as a chef and Baby Abby would be dinner aka the lobster. In the end I was the chef because he was working Halloween night. We still ended up going through with this funny photoshoot with the girls. The little chef costume is from Melissa & Doug who I have to give a shot out for making some of the coolest wooden toys and just toys in general. Seriously, they are killing the toy making game. Without further ado I bring you :

Chef's Special

bon appetite

NOTE: Special care and safety was taken into consideration during this photoshoot. No babies, children or lobsters were hurt in the making of this set.
