Puppy Pudding Cups, A Valentine's Day Craft

Wanted to share RQ a Valentine's Day craft idea. These are good for those who can appreciate non-candy Valentine's perfect for a school snack time. They are easy  to make and don't require a lot of your time. I made 8 of them for Aviva's Girl Scout troop and it took about an hour. I don't know if I would make 21 of them for her Kindergarten class. That would be a bit time consuming but if you're wiling to put in the effort, then go for it you over achieving badass, you. This is my take on a similar pin I had seen of some pudding cups decorated to look like puppies. The original post utilized foam to make the ears/nose/mouth. I utilized whatever I had left over in my craft box. ;) Waste not, want not ok ok~  Originally I was going to make "LOVE MONSTERS" but thought puppies would be cuter. aaaand I'm all about the cute. Turning Snac Packs into characters is actually a thing lol You can look up robots, Minions, penguins etc. and yes, puppers. The ribbon I had on hand had the right look to give a "dog collar" illusion. I think any ribbon would have worked though.


[For this project you will need:]

-Pudding cups 
(any flavor, vanilla would have stood out more, I couldn't find but would have went for the chocolate kind with the light brown layer in the middle)

-pipe cleaners 
(again, any color but I used brown and a cream white)

-a sharpie marker 
(to draw on mouths)

-ribbon 

-googly eyes

-low temp hot glue gun
(AGAIN, A LOW TEMP GLUE GUN!)

-beads 
(I used heart shaped ones for the noses but pompoms would work too)

Aviva's rainbow/paint party

Last year my sister in law and I pulled off something short of a miracle. If you throw last minute birthday parties, then you're a miracle worker as well. Aviva wanted a rainbow party for her 5th birthday. Lemme tell you, homegirl is obsessed with rainbows. Instead we took that idea and ran with it mixing a bit of a paint/artist themed party as well. A Vocabulary Parade

What the heck is a vocabulary parade ? I know, I thought the same thing when I got the newsletter sent home in Aviva's backpack. Apparently its something schools do sometimes. Not just my child's elementary. You pick a word. Any word in the dictionary is fair game. Then you make a costume that depicts that word. The school then invites all the parents to watch the students have a parade, hence the parade part. Everyone shows off their word costumes. -aww! There was a list of words sent home I guess to help get the creative juices flowing. I was looking at the words and thinking how am I suppose to come up with a costume for "obtuse" or "aquatic" etc... This was going to require a little thinking outside the box. On top of that, I had already expended my efforts and budget for costumes making Aviva's Vanellope Von Schweetz costume : P So I needed to be able to make it with stuff we already had. A Trip to the Asian Market

We're gonna talk about AZN SNAKS...like *me* juuuust kidding~ If you've ever been to an asian food store/grocer/market then you know the two most prominent sections of the place:  1. The pungent seafood area (try walking past this section without holding your breath, I dare you) and 2. The snack aisle. Oh, behold! The glorious foreign treats and sweets from the orient. Shelves colorfully lined with products in Japanese labels. Also in abundance here; drinks in funky glass bottles and packages with anime characters or ridiculously cute animals. If sweets aren't your craving, there's always chips-a-plenty for whatever you fancy. The struggles of being an Asian kid were real, and sugary...real sugary.
